USS Gearing

MSW Crewmember Phil Reeder [onslow] brings us a nice MOD of the USS Gearing running at full speed.
USS Gearing…
This is my build of Dragon’s latest US destroyer kit, the USS Gearing, in 350th.Apart from the addition of GMM’s excellent photo-etch, is a completely OOB build. The only problems I encountered were with the fit of the main deck to the hull, and some of the deck-house parts, these were soon rectified, and the rest of the build was as smooth as silk, and it was a joy to do. If their forth-coming Scharnhorst is as good as this is, then we are in for a treat.

My seascape is made from Daz modeling clay, and fine surface Polyfilla, done as to depict the model travelling at near full-speed.

As the kit was so good, very little reference material was used, only the WP book on Fletcher/Sumner/and Gearing class destroyers.

All-in-all, I can recommend this kit highly.
