This is my attempt to model Scharnhorst as she looked in summer 1943. I made a lot of scratch build modification to the original kit. The main problem of a kit is incorrect position of aft turret. But this I left as it is, because correction would require complete new deck from scratch. I used WEM Scharnhorst photo etched set + 1/350 crew figures from Eduard. For a paint job and weathering I tried to follow the method described in Polish magazine "Modelarstwo Okretowe" using of Vallejo Model color airbrushed on surface primed by black enamel color. The base for model is a cheap IKEA shelf covered by Vallejo Atlantic Water Effect gel. Waves are sculpted using of small cafe spoon.
