MSW crewmember Anthony Kochevar [ajkochev] shows off his handy work at scratch building the IJN Kitakami in her 1945 fit out.

This is my IJN Kitakami 1945 version as the Kaiten II sub carrier in 1:700 scale. The ship is completely scratchbuilt from styrene sheets and various other Evergreen shapes. PE used was spare parts and several sets of IJN ship parts lice the Lion Roar Aircraft rail set, their Depth Charge rack set and the Flyhawk Accommodation ladders set. Fine Molds IJN AA set was also used. The model turned out pretty good to spite a few placement problems and other errors.

FROM: UTAH, UNITED STATES

I've modeled ships as a teen and started the hobby again in 2005. For some reason I got into the history of the Japanese Navy at this time and started building ships of this navy. I also do N Scale model railroading, reef aquariums and a few video games.
