Liberty Ship, SS John W. Brown

  • move
MSW crew-mate Marco Magrini (marcomagrini) sends in his first submission, Liberty Ship SS John W. Brown (and his second ship model!), in this "On Display" Feature!

Model Kit-Trumpeter Models, SS John W. Brown Liberty Ship, 1/700 scale #05756.
Paint used : Gunze
PE : Generic Lion Roar, WEM, and Eduard

Edit note-This is Marco's second ship, and quite an impressive build, at that! He is an established armor and aircraft modeler, 1/72 scale only, but has been bitten bad the shipwright bug, and devotes all of his building time now to ships...looking forward to seeing MORE of his work!

It's marvelous seeing how techniques developed in other genres of scale modeling can allow a nautical newcomer to produce such realistic naval scenes. --Karl

Very nice work Marco - img_1451___800x600_ I do like the amount of weathering you have applied, it seems just the right amount, the cargo of tanks, were these from another kit ? And finally, the diorama, very convincing and would you ever consider building 2/3 of these ships and placing side by side in the same sort of harbour ?
