Similar to Jim Baumann’s build of this kit but without the sails, and using a camo scheme inspired by the famous camo artist of WW1., Norman Wilkinson.

The model therefore represents no particular ship in history, however it is an exercise in camouflage scheme painting alone.

Following Jim Baumann’s build of the same ship, I have used his references and build procedure to complete my kit.

Also, and as we all say, the kit represents excellent value for money, it is beautifully mastered, and like all BFM subjects it builds remarkably well – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The deck fitting details are a wonder as is the murkiness of the sea--it could just as easily be a photo of the North Atlantic or North Sea! --Karl

Cheers, Lads, and a couple of points I've seen myself - First, the rig needs to be tidied up. It 's not until you can look at hi-def pictures that you can study the detail - in more detail - many missable mistakes tend to show themselves through this media. Also when you're able to take a picture outside, which I have done here, the sky is refelcted in the gloss of the fake sea which gives it a realistic aura. Thanks for your comments, and yes, I will bring Drummers along to Hornchurch if I'm allowed to attend. Peter F

Hi Peter, Very nice build. The setting looks and feels like it is real. Your right about Harry's kits. Received the Shinano Maru today all I can say is WOW!!!!
