"MSW Crew-mate Alec Cap (bigal007) shares a gallery of the German U-Boot Type XXI, U2540, complete with a "cut-away" view inside, in this "On Display" Feature!"
I built this model just over 2 years ago...I actually bought this kit without instructions, believing there would be no problem, but, there was a BIG problem!
In the end I wrote off to Revell, and through their very, very helpful department ''X'' they sent me a copy of the build instructions.
This is U-2540 a German U-Boat type XXI, the scale is 1-144 and by Revell, a very difficult build with loads of small strange looking pieces...from one side this looks like a rather nice submarine, and the other, a good in-depth to what made these things tick.

Thank you for that, the rust effect although looking rather pinkish surprised me because its actually rust, a dull orange colour. a pigment of rust I used, still it doesn't look to bad.

very nice job Al; I like the cut away idea, reminds me of the old Polaris subs (Revell/monogram?).
