"Crew-mate Alec Cap (bigal07) shares a batch of images of one of his latest builds, Trumpeter Models US Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC), in this "On Display" Feature!"

Model Kit-Trumpeter 1/144 scale, US Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC), #02239

This is my LCAC by Trumpeter in 1-144 scale...there was never a problem with building this model, as everything went together easily.

The instructions, well, another story, but I will be buying another kit in the near future, and build it correctly, as this one is totally wrong, as built by the instructions.

Quite a few people have already said they can't see the mistake, I wonder if you can? Look under the port and starboard directional cowlings...it was one of those moments, almost a double take, you look and then look again just as if to check that your eyes are not playing tricks on you!

Hello Steve - look at the starboard directional cowling, that's actually suppose to be as it is but on the port side, the same port side directional cowling needs to be pulled off, the top turned round and the cowling replaced and the whole box section dropped into the ''starboard'' side. With PE and secure glue points in 3 locations on each section, there's no way I'd be willing to move these into the correct locations, very few people noticed this mistake, because I built the darn thing, my eye is automatically drawn to every time I see this LCAC, and as I said, this is a great kit, but the instructions are just slightly misleading, 4 pix 2 of each showing internal and 2 showing the external view, and silly old me followed the internal views, and that's why the 2 cowlings box sections are on the wrong sides. It happens.

Very nice build Alec; I have the 1/72 JMSDF version, and it is huge! I like the smaller version, better suited for interesting displays. thanks for sharing, cheers

Smaller ? How is this for smaller lol ohsumi-10 I have actually built a few of these very nice 1-700 LCAC but at the moment have not posted here, everything seems to be on the go slow I just can't get my brain into gear.

Nice work, Alec! Really cool detail! I keep thinking about getting this sometime to add to my ever growing stash of stuff I'll probably never finish. With all the talk of the different versions between JMSDF and USN, why is yours listed as USN? It's definitely the JMSDF version, considering the Japanese flag and the fact that it's carrying around Japanese tanks (Type 74 and Type 90).
