Model Kit Used- Bronco Models Imperial Chinese Beiyang Fleet Flagship Ting Yuen, 1/350 scale, #N5016
This is the Bronco 1-350 Ting Yuen, an ironclad, and the first modern Chinese battleship and also the flag ship of the Imperial Chinese Beiyang fleet.
The main armament was four 305mm Krupp cannons, this armored turret ship was built in the Vulcan Yard at Stettin Germany, now Szczeczin, Poland. The vessel was recognized as one of the most advanced battleships of its time.
I built this model with option 1 in mind, as this is 1885 version...there is a sister ship also by Bronco, the Chen Yuen, basically the same looking model, which is rather strange for a model company to produce 2 models that are very much alike.
This is my second Bronco model kit ever built, and a beautiful easy build, which I managed to complete in 5 days. The biggest disappointment was the fact that there was no ratlines included with the PE set, and due to these very tall mast, I had to cut two pair to make one...other then that, this is a very nice and somewhat odd looking battleship.

Wow, that was fast (now I'm feeling slower than ever)! Nice to see her built up, as I've been thinking of getting her. Good work!
Always love these diagonal turret ships (another example is the USS Maine, the sinking of which precipitated the Spanish American War).

Thank you for that, I still kick myself when I refused to pay £20.00 for a 1-700 Chinese battleship pre WW1 as thinking it was over priced, I saw that one, and not seen one since. Just goes to show you, at times you have to strike while the iron is hot.
