"MSW crew-mate Anthony Kochevar (ajkochev) shares a fine gallery of images of the IJN Destroyer, Wakatake, in this "On Display" Feature!"

This is the 1:700 scale Wakatake destroyer by Hasegawa Models. PE is spare parts from Tom’s Modelworks, Voyager, and Lion Roar. This is a very detailed kit that included a small patrol boat kit as well.

About Anthony Kochevar (ajkochev)
FROM: UTAH, UNITED STATES

I've modeled ships as a teen and started the hobby again in 2005. For some reason I got into the history of the Japanese Navy at this time and started building ships of this navy. I also do N Scale model railroading, reef aquariums and a few video games.

I guess I'm a sucker for Japinese surface war ships, the way you've done the bridge is very good, I just can't work out how its done, and the curlled up rope, how on earth do you do that ? Great looking build.

As one who gets tangled up in rigging at twice the scale, those two models are a marvel. I am also impressed with the mantlets on the bridge. Exquisite work. --Karl
