"MSW crew-mate Kostas Katseas shares one of his latest fantastic builds with us, HMS Hood, 1941, in this "On Display" Feature!"

Model Kit Used- Trumpeter - 1/350 HMS Hood, Admiral-class 1941 #5302

Railings and ladders only used as PE enhancements on this build...I have focused more on painting, and adding 'life' than superdetailing on this one.

Don't you hate the way the sea effect is done ? Boy is that good, I'd be over the moon if he explained how he did this and what he used, from my view point, the sea actually looks deep, its got that ''wouldn't want to fall overboard'' look about it, as for Hood - that's also a darn good build. Almost forgot to ask ---------- what's happened to the lighter ?

The water effects are marvel, conveying a fluid sense with wetness and depth. I am also impressed with the weathering which strikes a balance of a busy ship, yet one which is cared for. The depiction of the various crew figures about the ship in purposeful poses is a plus, and I appreciate the attention to little details like the lashings on the boat stacks. A work of art all round. --Karl
