I got a somewhat similar effect raiding my wife's make-up drawer. I snagged a couple of cotton balls, dipped them in silicon gel and placed large strands around the ship. But they are nothing like Kostas. I'm wondering how he achieves this effect, as well.

If you were to present these views in black and white, you would swear it was the real thing! The detail level goes off the chart. That water looks so real, specially when the flat top hits the wave and it breaks. Just incredible detail!!

This is amazing. The water is among the best I've ever seen. Foamy like the real ocean -- looks I could jump right in and get wet! You also did a great job on the figures. May I ask who manufactured them?

Many thanks to all for your ind words. The figures are made from Goffy i believe in Germany , but i dont take an oath on that.The do appear on Ebay quite frequently.

Kostas, I believe that is one of the best dioramas I can recall seeing in a long time. As someone said above, the bow wave and the ship's attitude almost transport you back to the Pacific on April 17, 1942! The work on Hornet herself is fantastic. You, sir, are a true artist. Bob
