"MSW crew-mate Oleg Dantchenko (silentbuilder) sends in his first submission, a fine gallery of images of his build of Alanger Models Delta IV submarine, in this "On Display" feature!"

Russian Boomer Delta IV (Project 667BDRM, code name "Дельфин")

This Alanger's kit was issued 2 or 3 years ago, and these days it is already rarity - Alanger went out of the business. The kit is unique - there is no other manufacturer producing this type of sub. I was lucky to get it.

The quality of the kit is very uneven. Some details are molded just great, but some are simply not acceptable. Anyway, I wanted to have this sub and without any other options the work was started. A lot of modifications was made to it. Some parts are built from scratch, some are produced from PE left from other models. I will be glad to answer any questions about building it.

Although I was using a lot pictures of real subs and available drafts, my Russian fellow modelers found several inaccuracies. The biggest one of course is the shape of hull in the bow section.

Overall, it was fun to work on this kit.

A very nice and clean build. I like what you have done with her, including the detailing and the sharp paintjob. Good work! Cheers/Jan

Not being very verst on submarines, therefore it comes as a bit of a shock when I consider the sheer size of these things. The build is very, very well done and with little imagination I can see this, glass case in a museum with people thinking the thing I am. Great build, very crisp and clean finish.
