1/350 U-boat diorama

The diorama tries to tell the story of U-96 returning from patrol. It is actually a rebuilt from the "still" of the movie Das Boot just a second before the siren rings and the English fighter-bombers come in for the attack.

Used items…
- U-Boot : Hobby Boss 1/350 type VIIC U-Boot
- Trucks : GHQ (actually 1/285 but scale difference is minimal)
- Figures : l'Arsenal, WEM PE sculpted with oil paint, scratch.

Scratchbuilt…
"porte écluse", turning bridge, diorama base, barbed wire and sand bags (Styrofoam, plaster, styrene fittings, spare box photo-etched parts, fishing line, paper, copper wire, metal rod,...)

Trying to build this dio as correct as possible took me lots of hours of research and looking at the movie over and over again, had enough of it for a while as well as the girlfriend. The barbed wire was a nightmare to build but creating the navy band was rather fun...
