USS Montana...

This one is a double “what if” straight out of my patron’s imagination. What if the USS Montana had been built during WWII. And what if she were modernized like the other Iowa class battleships.

The end result is a combination of the hull and some parts from the Imperial Hobby 1/700 resin kit, and the Trumpeter plastic kit for the USS Wisconsin. Other weapons such as the Sea Sparrow missiles are after market. Railings and radar PE courtesy of Lion Roar. Having nothing to work from particularly, I assumed that if she had been built, the Montana would be modernized like (and thus look like) a stretched Iowa class ship. Some scratchbuilding of the tomahawk platform and main radar assembly was required as was the forward radar assembly and radar platform in front of the second stack.
