1⁄350The Varyag Sails

Jacob Hederstierna-Johnsen shares with us some images of his model of the Varyag. The model used is the Zvezda kit, which is a good and clean build, with no real fitting problems. The model was finished with the addition of photo etch from Gold Medal Models as Jacob feels that this photo etch is easier to use than the ones from WEM, because it seems to be a bit thicker. Jacob also used the brass masts from Sea Master, and the rigging is made from tiny string used for making fishing flies. The anchor chains are from the spare box. It's painted in Citadel and Humbrol colors.

I have this ship coming. I hope I can do it half as good as you.
