HMS Pennywort

  • move
Bill Giehos shares with us some pictures of his build of the HMS Pennywort K111, Flower class corvette using the Mirage Hobby model. The model is a 1/350th scale model. Bill added extra detail to his build of the HMS Pennywort via the addition photo etched rails from Eduard and ladders from Model Marine. The ship was paint with Vallejo acrylics and oils, with the sea being replicated with oils and acrylic gel.

WOW! I can't get over the bow slicing through those waves! I'm speechless and at the same time ... very seasick! Nice weathering as swell. --mike

Nice weathering, and that tossing sea really brings the little Flower to life!

They said Flowers would roll even on wet grass, and Bill, you've perfectly captured the character of a corvette on the high seas! --Karl
