USS Franklin D. Roosevelt - Cir. 1959

This commission was for the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CV42) as she appeared in 1959 after a refit. The HP kit itself was reasonably good. Basic molding was good with minimal overpour and flashing. However, many details like watertight doors were basic blocks or were missing altogether. The hull and flight deck were each molding in a single piece which was appreciated and made for a seamless presentation. With the addition of an aftermarket PE set for the Midway class as well as decals (by Starfighter) the kit came together well.
