The SMS Scharnhorst was and armored cruiser sailing under the flag of the Imperial German Navy. Commissioned in 1907, the Scharnhorst would be regulated to the German East Asia Squadron prior to the outset of the First World War. After the start of the war, the Scharnhorst, along with the Gneisenau and three light cruisers, decimated a a small British squadron at the Battle of Coronel. A few short months after the battle, the British Admiralty sent two battlecruisers to hunt down the Scharnhorst. The SMS Scharnhorst met her fat at the Battle of the Falkland Islands in December of 1914.

Kostas Katseas shares one of his latest seascape scenes with his 1/350 scale SMS Scharnhorst from Combrig Models.

Model Shipwrights would like to thank Kostas Katseas for providing pictures of his SMS Scharnhorst.
