Kostas Katseas brings us yet another miniature watery scene with his depiction of one of Britain's Queen Elizabeth Battleships, HMS Valliant. Kostas uses Trumpeter Models 1/700 scale HMS Valiant to create this seagoing diorama.

Commissioned in 1916, HMS Valiant's career would span two World Wars and serve the British Royal Navy with distinction. Seeing her first naval encounter at the Battle of Jutland in the First World War, she engaged the German Imperial Navy as part of the Grand Fleet firing over 280 of her 15 inch shells. She would emerge from the battle unscathed.

The Valiant would go on to serve the Atlantic Fleet during the period of Inter War and later transfer to the Mediterranean Fleet after the outset of the Second World War. She would take part in many naval bombardments such as the Battle of Cape Matapan and Tripoli. Late in the war, Valiant would transfer to the Eastern Fleet where she engaged the Japanese in Indonesia. In a strange twist of fate, HMS Valiant would end up in an altercation with a floating dry-dock preventing her from steering a straight course, thus ending here career.

Model Shipwrights woulf like to thank Kostas Katseas for providing this photo feature of his HMS Valiant
