Kostas Katseas finally has a go at a diorama he has been looking to make for a while. He shares with us his rendition of HMS Warspite leaving port to cruise the Mediterranean.

This is a diorama Kostas has always wanted to have a try at, Warspite leaving a port in Mediterranean (he admits he had Malta's Grand Harbour in mind ) overlooked by the medieval castle . The scene is depicted in 1/700 scaling. kostas added lots of extras from L'Arsenal (excellent vehicles) , 20mm oerlicons by 3DModelparts life savers, buildings and cranes from Alliance Modelworks, the plane... again from L'Arsenal and 3D figures by North Star which he mentioned were a bit of trouble to mount but worth adding as they provide a unique sense of realism with their 3D volume.

Mode Shipwrights would like to thank Kostas Katseas for providing pictures of his HMS Warspite in the Mediterranean for this feature!

What a magnificent display! Harbor scenes are among the trickiest maritime dioramas to pull off, and this one captures it with a wonderful mix of kits, upgrades, scratch-builds, and wonderful paint and water effects. This one is a masterpiece. --Karl

That's a really great diorama. One of your better ones I think. You must be modelling 10 hours a day everyday!

Wow. Amazing detail at that scale. Damn, that would be outstanding in ANY scale.
