One big part of this taking part in this hobby is of course for the fun involved in creating something we can be proud of. However, it is most certainly the love of the hobby that drives us. That love can be sparked in many ways allowing us the opportunity to be a part of this great community of modelling. For Kostas Katseas, that spark was his Dad.
A couple of months ago, Kostas's father passed away. In tribute to his father, he created this seagoing diorama of the USS Missouri BB-63. Kostas wishes to give some of the credit of this build to Tony Bunch, as he provided the model which had been partially constructed prior to Kostas receiving it.
Please enjoy the photos of Kostas's work in this fantastic diorama and I will leave you with a quote from Kostas which sums up the meaning behind this project:
"This model is in memory of my father , who passed away this October, besides everything else, was also the main force who inspired me to get into military history and modeling."
Model Shipwrights would like to thank Kostas Katseas for sharing this fitting tribute to his Dad with us
