A Pair Of Norwegian Frigates

The latest commission from my favorite patron is a pair of Norwegian frigates of the Fridtjof Nansen class, namely, the Fridtjof Nansen and Thor Heyerdahl by Dodo Models in 1/700.

The kits themselves (as well described in a recent review) are well done. The kits come with both PE and decals, however, the decals only allow for the Nansen hull number. If you want to build a different (or in my case additional) ship in the class, you will have to go after market for decals. Also, while the kit does come with two frets of PE parts, it still lacks sufficient railing to complete a single ship. ( a real gripe of mine with most in kit PE).

The instructions are full color and give actual pictures of the built model rather than the crude drawing as we sometimes see in resin kits.. Most important of all.... each kit comes with a hand numbered certificate of authenticity! Since we know the utter rash of counterfeit Fridtjof Nansen kits is simply getting out of hand these days. Rest assured, yours will be an original Dodo Models Fridtjof Nansen kit.
