Russian Gremyashchy Class Corvettes

Next on my favorite patron’s esoteric agenda is a pair of Russian Gremyashchy Corvettes by Gwylan models. These 1/700 scale resin kits are done well enough. Molding is clean and clear and resolution is good. The kits come with decals and photo etch making them a great build. My only complaint is that Gwylan appeared to be in a rush to get these to market and had copied an early plan or drawing for the ships before actually seeing them in the water. As a result, the superstructure is completely wrong and the kits do not have the iconic rear radar assembly at all. I had to scratch build mine as well as possible. However, the from the pics I have seen of the actual ships as built, the hull at least is accurate.

Model Shipwrights would like to thank David Salvin for providing this photo feature of his twin Russian Gremyashchy Corvettes.
