Athanasios Pagkalos shares an amazing 1/700 scale rendition of the Royal Navy's HMS Empress seaplane carrier.
HMS Empress, Converted from the Cross-Channel packet ship was a seaplane carrier of the Royal Navy (RN) that served during World War I. Through the use of her aircraft, the ship was capable of conducting aerial reconnaissance, observation and bombing missions in the North Sea and Eastern Mediterranean. As the First World war came to a close, Empress conducted anti-submarine patrols in the Mediterranean. She was returned to her owners in 1919 and would eventually be sold to a French company in 1923; scrapped in 1933.
Athanasios converted the British Seaplane Carrier "ENGANDINE"1916/18 kit from Choroszy Modelbud to create this fantastic water diorama of HMS Empress. The entire project was painted with acrylic colors.
Model Shipwrights would like to thank Athanasios Pagkalos fo providing this feature of his 1/700 scale HMS Empress!

Thank you for your good words!
The sea effect is made of clay, colourd in several tones of
mixed blue and green, and coated with a clear
acrylic gel, layer. The surfs on the other hand are
little cotton tufts, glued on the surface.

What a wonderful diorama! The layout, details, action, and weathering are all first class, and all in 1/700 scale! This one's a gem.
