U-XVIIB

  • move
My build of this U-XVIIB represents U-1407 while in training flotilla (therefore the yellow stripe on coning tower). Besides OOB PE set there was some slight scratch building involved. Some parts of photo etch were lost to "carpet monster" and therefore needed to be replaced. Those are antennas on the coning tower, some railing and ladders on the coning tower, railing on deck and the dive planes on the front of the sub's deck. The model is a joint build by Rade Marjanovic and Predrag Stamenkovic, both from Scale Model Club Novi Sad - IPMS Serbia. Criticism and commenting is welcomed.

excellent build of one of these not much known (but very innovative) Walther U-Boote. I like it a lot! Would love to see one in scale 1:72. Cheers Thomas

Rade, This is a cool looking and modern - almost science fiction looking - submarine. Well done, you did a fine job with it!
