About Alan McNeilly (AlanL)
FROM: ENGLAND - EAST ANGLIA, UNITED KINGDOM

Greying slightly, but young at heart. I've been teaching adults off and on for most of my life. Left the services in 85 and first started modelling in about 87 for a few years. Then I had a long spell when I didn't build anything (too busy) and really just got started again during the summer of ...

Nice work, Alan, on both the models and the pictures, mate! That's a fine looking trio that you have there, should make for a banger of a Dio! Thanks for sharing! ~Gunny

Wow, nice work Alan. Great job all the way around. The ropes on all three are really eye catching, especially the festooned line on the LCA and the cargo net on the LCM. Very inspiring...

Hi All Just a quick note that I forgot to mention and I want you guys to notice: This is a four (!!) page MOD Feature, being the first page with the ensemble photos, and then one per each craft! Alan did a great job, specially with that FM LCA (just my 2 cents, here) Bravo Zulu Skipper

Greetings all, i've been lurking behine those fuel barrels to see if it was safe to put my head out - LOL. Thanks for all your comments and I hope you enjoyed the show. My thanks to Skipper who had to wade throught a mountain of 'almost photographs' and my thanks to all those who have given me their help, knowledge and access to all manner of useful information. It's that help and encouragement that made these possible. I've still a little work to do on the LCVP and the LCM, I've been experimenting with the chipped paint technique and I think the top and sides of the ramps would benefit from a bit more damage, When I get the loads sorted out and installed I'll post an update. Dave your British Infantry are coming along fine, thanks for that trade. If someone had said to me 18 month ago that I'd be displaying a model on this site I've had told them they were mad. Just goes to show what can be gained from the help and information available here. Glad you enjoyed the show and thanks again for your comments and support. Cheers Al

Hi Alan, I'm by no means a boatie - the closest I get to being one is when I go for my annual attempt to surf :-) :-) - but by Neptune those are AWESOME!!! Dude, get out from behind those fuel barrels, and stand proud!! Rudi

Paul and Rudi, Thanks lads, glad you enjoyed the pictures. Those of you who picked up on my post about 'Salvage Boats' will now know the reason why ha ha, a forth to add to the trio would be just great LOL, LOL. In lieu of Salvage Boats, I'm building a couple of DUKWs at the moment. They were scheduled to land at H hour + 90 but as the second wave troops were delayed and didn't hit the beach until 7am the DUKWs might not have been too far off shore by that time. Just in case I have an open bit of sea!!! LOL, LOL. Cheers Al

Sorry Alan I will not add a fourth craft to this MOD :-) But I can make a single Craft MOD for the "Salvage Boat". Where you able to "catch" one of those? Skipper
