I was just wondering...is there a way to put a spell check type thing in the forum pages and also the messages? I'm a very bad speller and my grammar is even worse but I hate sending out e-mails and replies with misspelled words. Right now I cut and paste my post (most of the time) from "model shipwright" to word then back again. So if it’s not to hard could we try some thing like that (if there is already a feature like that I'm sorry for the post)?

Naw, Frank, there's no feature available here, mate...such a program would be an ENORMOUS draw on the server, and would most definitely slow the entire site down to an absolute snail pace...I do agree though, would be a nice feature!

Gunny & Jim,
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll keep doing what I'm doing. I don't like the toolbars that stick them selves to the top of my screen so I'll have to say no to the google thing. Thanks guys.

well i use a Firefox plug-in which is called "United states English dictionary" and it checks the spelling in forum boxes and underlines in red the wrong words -it's quite convenient and is not a toolbar..

Mozilla and Firefox are one in the same. I'm using Mozilla Firefox version 2.0.0.4, and it comes with spell checker. A little red dotted line comes up under any text it doesn't recognize. A quick right click on the "offending" text will give you a list of suggestions, or you can choose to "Ignore" or "Add to dictionary".

here Rudi!
I know I downloaded this plugin, but maybe it has been bundled with Firefox's newest versions.
Maybe it could be the right time to switch of on Firefox? quite great because of the amount of plugins available -but catastrophic use of computer ressources..

JBA,

I also use the "Firefox-Mozilla" spell checker plug-in but have mine set at "English-English" which unfortunately appears to have been programmed by an idiot who does not understand that the correct way to spell the word "Colour" includes the use of a "U" .

This comment should be taken in a light hearted manner.

i think i should have been more diplomatic when I told Rudi what was actually pluged on my Firefox!
Come on, saying that to me -honestly you won't find a more pro-English French guy than I am I even like (some of) the food!!

Actually... no they're not. FireFox is a lighter version of the slightly older Mozilla browser. I tried FF. Didn't like it, went back to Mozilla 1.7.8.
