Hey all,

As you all know I'm new to the site and new to modeling but I thought I would throw this out there and see what happens. I thought I would throw out a few things that I would like to see happen at this site that any one of us can take care of. I know there was a thread on what we thought the staff can do but a site is what we make of it so how about stuff we can do.

I'll start off with stuff that wildspear can do;

1. More participation- I'm trying to get things together to make a campaign this way I can have a reason to be the forum rat that I am and it will give me a good way to meet others in this great web site.

2. I'm interested in a submarine build and was wondering if there was going to be a "Dive, Dive 3" (sorry if I got the name wrong...working from memory) in honor of Gary. If someone doesn't have one in the works by the latter part of the year I may have to put one together.

3. Photo walk around. Close to where I live we have the USS Silversides museum. Since I was planning to do this sub as a build I thought it would be a great thing to try a "Walk around"

I know sounds ambitious but I want to do my part in helping the site. So the big question is..........

What are you going to do mate??????

Hmmm guys. Sounds like a fun little challenge.

Let see, I've could be more vigilant with my history posts and check with a buddy of mine that might be willing to let us post some of his photos.

So mates, what will it be?

Shipwright resolutions? Now that’s hardcore! I was just hoping our silent shipmate would speak up and share a photo or two of their work.
I will join in though:
I will take as many little steps as is necessary to complete the rigging and sails of my current ship. One line at a time.
I will part with some of the money that I am saving for my next sailing ship for a styrene kit and extras, possibly for a group build. But only after my current project is “finished”.
If and when I return to Washington see what tours and photo opportunities can be had from the many commands and museums there.

Well Frank a good post.
I for my part will be doing a couple of photo walk arounds later in the summer.
I have a in-box review or two to try and do.
I will try to add a few more history posts time and work permitting.

A group build idea or three, Flattops 2, Dreadnoughts 2 or Cruisers.

But at the end of the day I'm no expert ship builder so if I can do any of this so can we all, thats how we improve.

Ciao

I would be willing to sponsor more contests or group builds with a prize donation.

For the Cruiser build: How about my new IJN Light Cruiser?
For the Sub build: How about my new Treasury Class Cutter?

Also, I will place a link to the site in my next Newsletter.

Harry,

That would be a very awesome thing to do, thank you very much. I'm sure we will contact you(the staff will I should say) over the details once those campaigns are put together and the link is great. Thanks again.

Harry, my friend, your support for our site is admirable, and a sponsorship for a campaign(s) is yet another fine example of your generosity...(and a link to our site is a capitol idea, mate! Let me know if you need a logo to use! )
Cheers,
Mark

That is awesome Harry. Well, I checked with a buddy of mine yesterday and with his permission, we'll have a USS Texas and USS Kidd Walkarounds.
