Very nice work, Jiri!
Can I request that you submit this model as a "Model On Display" feature?
All that you have to do is to take about 12 or 15 digi photo's of your model, different angles, close-ups, etc., and e-mail them to me Here!
Great work, keep modeling!

Very nice indeed. I love it! I'm assuming this is the 1/72? I'm going to try this technique on the VIID... when I get to it.

Awesome work Jiri. I've wondered how this technique would look on ship models.

Hello Jiri

Yes the weathering looks great, as all the guys have said so far
I would only had a little more flaking/rust on the white area next to the steps (after all it should be one of the most heavy duty areas, plus sea action)
And use a little white on the Conning tower (using the same technique)

I have also to second Marks request for a MOD Feature
Congratulations,
Skipper

imodeller,

Forgive me for asking but how do you do this weathering technique? I have never done any weathering on any of my models but yours looks really good to me. Did you just add dots of paint to the model and draw it down? Could you or some one do a "how to" article on this?

If there is one already could you point me in the right direction?

Hi Frank

The spots that you notice in the first two pictures are small dabs of artists oils, than with a turpentine essence moistered flat brush you just make vertical strokes in order to blend those new colours - that's what I have used in my SLC Maiale.

Hope this helps

Hi Jiri,

I am interested in the colors you used also. I just aquired the Alanger 1/72 XXIII and am exploring paint schemes.

Great job!!!

Hey all,

A little off topic but....last night I was watching the "Military Channel" and the had a show on subs. I noticed during the show that the Russian subs looked vary cool. I might have to get that Gato sooner than expected. I know, I know the gato is an American boat but if I do a sub I have to do the "Silverfish" first then maybe some Russian or German.
