The efforts of the RNLI, who are all volunteers is incredible in its history. I grew up knowing the Stornoway Lifeboat (in its various transformations). It sat out in the harbour, blatantly obvious but strangely... It was never really refered to... Kind of... Ignored. It never wanted for anything though.
The crew was treated in the most respectful manner.
