Hi,
I'm quiet new to 1/700 ship modelling. I've builded some plastic kits. Currently I've started working on the HMS Dreadnought from Kombrig. Nice kit but the mast are not looking good to me. I wanna replace the main mast at least with brass rod? What size do you use for such a topic ?

Eric

Hi Eric

First, welcome aboard ModelShipWrights!!!
Now, back to your question: I would recommend 0,3mm or 0,2mm brass rod
Also I would like to suggest this New Accessory Line From BFM which would add a better look
Harry from BattleFleetModels is also a active member here and he will certainly give you good advice, as will others who have built HMS Dreadnought (Mike McCabe and Martin J. Quinn pop my mind)

Cheers,
Skipper

Eric
Just coming to the end of my Dreadnought now, I used different thicknesses of brass rod as replacements. I think you mean more correctly the foremast, which is the one with three legs, the mainmast is the small one aft of the funnels.

I used something like 1.5mm rod for the main leg and 1.2mm for the supports.
