Ahoy mates!
I was looking through one of my battleship books today and I was curious, what''s your favorite era when it comes to battlewagons?

Dreadnought era, World War I. Pre-dreadnoughts could have some interesting colors, black hulls, white superstructures, ochre funnels, etc, but they never really fought all that much. World War II the ships tended to look a lot alike, and spent most of their time either escorting or hiding from carriers. World War I, and especially the battle cruisers, the ships had more individual style.

I agree Rodger. When it comes to grace, beauty and power, the World War I ships have to be the gold age.

I concur with Rodger and Kenny WWI Battlewagons all the way. The per-dreadnoughts had the flash of colour and don't get me wrong they are very interesting while the WWII era ships all looked similar except the French with the all guns forward quad barrelled turrets.
Where else do you get a seven turreted battlewagon than WWI, HMS Agincourt

Hey all,
Guess I'm bucking the system......I went with ww2. You have the power and the size and let’s not forget the power of the main gun providing shore bombardment. I didn't want to vote for any one era since I love all the battlewagons, and gunny recently turned me on the pre-dreads

I guess I'm a strange one but I absolutely love the modern Iowa class battlewagons. Unfortunately, the modern Iowa class was not an option in the survey.

Brent, the Iowa, even modern, would fall under WWII. That's when it was designed.
