Hey there,

I'm busy with a diorama with a catalina. It's a scene with a part of a pier and a bouy. So I need pictures from bouys and piers during WWII. Preferably US. Then I'm going to try and make them from scratch in 1/72. Thanks for your help.

Hi Daniel, Welcome to Model Shipwrights, mate!

Well my friend, you've caught me away from my reference library (I'm on a short holiday right now) but if you take a look at some of the harbor features here at MSW, by Jim Baumann, and Peter Fulgoney, you can get some great ideas to go with...take a perusal of our features, mate, I'm sure you won't be let down!

When I get home, I'm pretty sure I can get you some scans of WWII piers and such...
Cheers,
~Gunny

Here's some photos Daniel. It's hard to find a PBY at a dock because most of them were launched from a ramp.

Hmmm...I could see some interesting dio ideas here, but not in 1/72...hey Daniel, have you given the thought to maybe falling back a 1/700 scale reduction?
