Ahoy Shipmates

On the 27th of October the Fleet separated into two squadrons, the first squadron, under Rear-Admiral Sperry, headed for Olongapo, Manila for a months gunnery practice; the second, under Rear-Admiral Emory, set course for the Formosa Straits and the Chinese island of Amoy.
