HI,
We just watched the movie of the same name and I got to wondering if there is a model of this ship or one like it . I seem to remember one when I was younger about 30 yrs ago. but could I still get one now.
Thanks for any and all thoughts.

I believe it was Renwall who made a kit of an AK, way back in the land of hair and teeth.

It's still available. It's the Revell USS Montrose/Randall kit.

Thanks, I will see if I can find one it would be interesting to build. My husband has the same problem with the hair although I didn't say that.

The ship you see in the movie is the APA-224 Randall. They painted over the 4 for the movie.

That was a great book. As I remember the movie wasn't half bad either. As I recall that old Revell kit is one where it was an odd scale. I built it many moons ago back when my hair was the original color. Unlike Dave, and your husband, I've still got all mine, I just have to ignore the color.

Your right HalfYank the book was better but the movie is excellant we watched it again today that is what started me thinking about it. I think the scale is 1:375 or so. My hair is the same as when I was 20 and for about 15 dollars a month it stays that way

Now if my eyes would just cooperate.

If you are looking for a waterline 1/700 scale kit of the ship in the movie, Loose Cannon has a kit that would fill the bill. Check their web site.
