Ahoy Mates!

Telford, 2007- My-oh-my, Jim Baumann's AMAZING build, a 1/600 scale RMS Mauretania, in WW1 dazzle camouflage took Best of Class, Best Ship, and Best of Show!

Congratulations Jim!

(I hope that I can build ship models HALF this good when I grow up...... )

That is amazing. I can see why it was best of show. The painting and all of the people on deck.

Skipper,
Don't be so coy, I heard you got a winner there to and knowing your preferences, it would have been one of those underwater thingies.

Oyez oyez, so Rui won something? what did you win Rui!

As for Jim Baumann's victory, i mean, all my congratulations for the guy! this is really well deserved!

And I can't keep on thinking that British fairs are becoming more interesting by the minute, first Roy Hunt and a 2 inches high fig wins best of show at Euromilitaire, and then this splendid ship winning at Telford.. hats of for the Brits

hey i am not even sure there is a single gun on the Mauretania

That is an outstanding job. It's really fantastic that a ship, and not another Tiger, Sherman, BF-109, Mustang, or whatever won.

That depends on if you believe German propaganda or not.

Hi Rab, Jean-Bernard and the rest...
Yes, I got one Bronze and one commended
Bronze with the scratchbuilt 1/700 NRP Alvares Cabral Frigate and the Commended was the 1/700 IJN I-58 (1944 fit) dio, the one with the Chinese Junk.
I am pretty happy about it, mainly because I am starting with these small scale models, and to get these awards amongst the tough competition feels like you are doing something right.

Cheers,
Skipper
