This might help if you haven't seen it already
http://www.bismarck-class.dk/paint_schemes/introduction.html

Also, you can probably ask Synder & Short or WEM. WEM pants are great, very high quality.

This artical on Kriegsmarine paint might be a little useful, tho it does deal mostly with uboats it has paint info on KM surface ships - "Kriegsnarine U-boat Colours & Markings by Dougie Martindale"

Hope this helps

Hi Steve,

Here's what you'd need in WEM Colourcoats.

Bismarck:
Hull--Dunkelgrau 51 (KM 02);
Dark panels on hull at bow & stern--Schlickgrau 58 (KM 11) or Blaugrau 58.1 (KM 12);
Superstructure--Hellgrau 50 (KM 01);
Steel decks & turret tops--Dunkelgrau 2 (KM 06);
Wood decks--Teak (C 01);
Funnel cap--Aluminumbronze (C 04)
Boot-topping stripe--Schiffsbodenfarbe III Grau 1 (KM 05);
Underwater hull--Schiffsbodenfarbe III Rot 5 (KM 04);
Beyond that, black & white stripes on hull & superstructure, and white false bow & stern waves. She wore this scheme until Norway. When she left Norwegian waters they had painted out the dark bow & stern panels with Dunkelgrau 51, and had painted out the black & white stripes and false stern wave. On the day she was lost, her turret tops had been repainted yellow (I'd recommend ACLW 21) as an air recognition feature for the Luftwaffe.

Prince of Wales:
All vertical surfaces--AP 507B Admiralty Medium Grey (RN 02);
Steel decks--AP 507A Admiralty Dark Grey (RN 01);
Wood decks--Teak (C 01), though there is some evidence her wood decks may also have been painted AP 507A;
Boot-topping stripe--Black (C 02);
Underwater hull--RN Antifouling Red (RN 19).

Hope this helps.
