hello Mark,Kenny,Rui,
i was on the tank side of the site and read the review of 2007 in new releases from the armor manufactors, and was wondering if you are going to do the same here.
Jim Rae,wrote a nice piece of the year in review, and i would be nice if Model Shipwrights site would do the same.what do you all think.
edit:in looking at some of the flyers i have got just before x-mas,i have to state one thing about the year in review.
Hasegawa releasted a new /350 of the IJN Nagato for $200.00, then there is the P.E.super set for $100.00,then detail set A for $36.00,then detail set B for $60.00.so before you even start your build it cost at least $400.00.the model if it pans out will be great, but who has that kind of money.
AND it looks like all the other companies are going the same way,put out a model that cost at least $150-$200,then and lots of P.E. for another $100+.who has this kind of money, and if you do it means you will only buy 1 or 2 a year.what do everyone else think?
cheers,
Bruce

Well, over on the Armor board I mentioned I would like to see more allied kits. I guess the same is true over here, I would like to see more US ships being produced. So far from teh future releases it looks like this will happen. It would be nice to see a Taymia kit for the US Midway ships and maybe even one for Battle Ship Row.

I do agree the prices seem to be getting a little high, but remember everything that goes into making plastic. Oil is a big part of that process. The amount of detail in todays kits is fantastic an the makers keep doing a better job of adding nice touches. Take for example the USS Pennsylvania, a one piece molded hull and main deck with wooden deck detail.

To me since I am a new again modeler, it is had to say this si great or this is bad. I enjoy being back in the hobby and cannot wait to get better at my craft. 2008 will be an interesting year for me. I already plan to attend the show in Atlanta in June. I only hope my projected builds are worthy enough to take.
