Gentlemen,
Any tricks with installing a laser cut wood deck on an Essex Class? I'm painting/staining with Colourcoats & adding the Trumpy ends. Do I need anything else from the kit deck. I'm planning on GMM PE to do this up right. Any "gotchas" with attaching the deck to the hull? It looks straight forward, but thought I'd ask before I got too deep into the project.
Ken

Hi Ken,
One thing to remember is that you're combining two different materials that have two different coefficients of expansion/contraction, i.e., they'll move at different rates when the temperature (and in the case of the wood, humidity) changes. If you use an unflexible glue to attach them to each other, you could be inviting trouble. I'd recommend a contact-type cement that retains a bit of flexibility when it sets.
