My Dad got me the ship in the title and there are tons of thin strips that I don't see in the instructions.
Has anyone had any experience with this ship or this company that may be able to offer some help?

I've emailed them and they are working on translation of my email and I don't know when they'll get back to me.

Hi Scott

That is the wood that you'll need to plank the hull... You should check the way of planking it (diagonal, double)
There's little more that I can do to help you, since I have never build a wooden ship - but this I have seen at our model club

Yup - it's a full multi-media kit, wood, brass, string, cloth sails, the whole 9 yards. Every plank will have to be added and formed around the hull frame.
They have done a good job on most of the instructions, there are just a few strips that I can't id on any of the documentation at all.

We'll see. I'm really looking forward to building it.

Hi Scott,
Artesiana Latina kits are some of the best wooden ship kits available, IMO, and as Rui has stated, the strips should be the hull planking, mate...trust me, I've had this discussion before about their instructions with other modelers, and if I were you, I would wait to get the official word from the company before proceeding with the build, especially if there's a doubt in your mind about certain kit parts...always better to play it safe, especially with a kit that is as costly as these are!

Looking forward to experiencing the build with you, my friend, and once you do get 'er going, please keep us updated, and if you wish, start your own "BLOG" here on the build...

Wow Scott! What a nice gift. You must have been a good boy in '07! That kit looks pretty intense for any skill level. You'll probably be adding to your tool collection for for this build if you haven't done fine wood before. Not a bad thing!
I've been dinking around with the idea of doing one of their 1/35 Krab boats for a dio idea but just haven't decided. Maybe I'll just start with a raft.
Anyway, good luck and fun with that ship. They are awesomely magnificent when finished!
Keep us posted!
