Hi guys ..Im new to this board ...I usually do armour and biplanes and U boats...I came in last night and didnt notice this thread on the Orel started by Wildspear.
I am currently researching what ship to cut my teeth on and the Borodino class is my choice so far ...I have been dancing with this devil for the last year..
I want to say that the build looks really good!,and the pics and line drawings you guys posted is VERY timely and helpful! I agree ...dont rush the job ..its looking super.
Im thinking of doing this Borodino class with the White Ensign photo etch, and am currently sourcing and pricing..thanks for listening guys

Hi Jim

You got a crucial point in your post: Don't rush things!
As you'll find out, ship models take longer, even if they are smaller scales, like 1/700
And btw, you can see some of Bob Cicconi's Pre-dreadnoughts here!

Looking forward to see your works

thanks..Im looking foreward to showing my work ...eventually..lol
I have a tip that might help regarding rigging...I cut my teeth on biplanes ,and I found a couple of ways to do it ..
My fav is to use my wifes black hair ...she has good thick hair ..long and straight..
I also use the haloween cobweb stuff you can buy ...its springy and thin...run a sharpie marker over it after attaching with crazy glue..but its a bit fiddly..
hope i help someone
