Can a late war USS New Orleans be built from a late war San Francisco?
And, more importantly, if I didn't alter the kit, would anybody notice the difference?
later...Gator

Little help please. I want to do the New Orleans for the cruiser campaign and I need to know if there were any significant differences.

Kenny,
The NO Boat had different turrets than the SF, right off the bat you have a problem there. Not sure of other differences once the bridges were cut down, but here's some late war pictures of both:
New Orleans:
San Francisco:
There are also some good pictures of the late war SF on Navsource

Thanks Martin. It looks like I could add that extra little bevel on the top of the turrets and be pretty dang close.
