Glenn or should I call you Cheyenne,
I think I will do the "British" thing and call you Glenn.
Firstly I would like to thank you for this excellent reference material, this is the very beast that I was looking for, you photos answer a lot of questions the only way that you could improve on the information you have provided would be and I quote:
I think I also might have a schematic type drawing of this quad.
or
Pete I happen to have one of these in my back garden
I appreciate what a model room can be like but as the project is only at the "thinking about " stage if you do happen to come across the schematic I would be more than happy to see them.
I must say that I really appreciate the help you have given and as I said in my review it is this that makes you chaps so great, thanks again to you.
The weapons system might look good but against aircraft of the time its range was too short, the "Flowers" got these as they were being removed from larger and more "Important" ships, I think destroyers had them replaced with pom poms, when larger numbers of Pom poms became available these found there way on to the Flower Class boats. HMS Clematis was armed with one of these in the rear band stand (I think that is the correct term) when she left Charlie Hills ship yard in Bristol, if memory serves me right she went through the war and was scrapped some time in the mid to late 40`s I believe she was also the boat that took on the Hipper when on escort duty, only to have the Hipper run away, probably thinking that any ship that came straight on must have some thing more than a 4 inch pop gun.
