Ahoy, mates!
Undoubtedly, one of most important facets of your build hinges upon the final finish (ie, painting), and with each modeler, comes a different approach to arriving at the finished product...our next opinion poll asks quite simply, "What type of paint medium do you most commonly use?"...please take a moment and vote in our current poll, and add any further comments and discussions here!

Gotta be acrylics. I started stocking up on MM Acrylics since they are no longer in production.

While I use all 3 I have to pick enamels.
I sorta prefer the acrylics being easier and cheaper to clean up but it just seems most of the colors I need come in enamel so thats what i mostly use.

Well, I have only been re-modelling for a year, but went back to Testors/MM enamels, with a handful of WEM tins, also enamels. Been thinking about slowly build up acrylics for ship painting... also use a handful of acrylics for washes on top of enamel.

I use MM enamels almost exclusively. I use some tamiya colors every now and then.
having said that, I was going to branch over to MM acrylics this year. That is real disappointing to read here that they have been discontinuted.

Well, mate, panic, no, concern, yes...the Maritime color line of MM acrylics has been discontinued, and there is decent stock of most colors around, but when they're gone.....

I use Polly Scale and Tamiya acrylics for the majority of my airbrushing. I tend to pre and post shade most of my colours and this would not work well with enamils. I use humbrol enamils for detail brush work and I use tube water colours for washes as they are very forgiving and can be easily removed.

I have been restocking my paint locker and currently have a mix of MM Acrylics, MM Enamels, WEM tins, and Taymia Acrylics.
Then my wife has a monster collection of acrylis she uses for painting that I can use for water and scenery.
