I bought Nichimo's Akizuki kit several years ago and nowadays want to build it. I spot many differences on model during searching some information about vessel. I want to finish it as it seen 3D configuration on website www.ijn.dreamhost.com

Kit offers only two 25mm dual AA batteries. Does anybody knows where can I buy 1/200 triple and one barelled 25mm AA guns?

I also want to scribe or simulate hull welding details and I could not found any dwg. Will be appreciated if anybody gives some info.

hmmm...yer not making it very easy at all, mate...if you're looking for entire replacements in 1/200 for purchase, I think you're going to end up empty handed, my friend...you may have to scratchbuild exactly what you're looking for, and I do know that Burkhardt Masch of BMK, Germany, does turn custom barrels in brass (and some mighty fine ones at that)...he may be willing to turn your barrels, shoot him an e-mail...as far as drawings of the Akizuki, I haven't seen any good ones, and IMHO, may not be accurate anyways (just think Hasegawa Nagato... )...you may be better off looking for some good drydock photo's or the like to get an idea on the hull plates......let us know how you make out, mate, nice project!
Cheers,

Thanks for reply,

According to books and documents I found, I can say Nichimo's kit is designed for its early stages of war configuration without additional AA batteries on funnel sides and extra AA on deck. I'll go with kit's parts and do some detailings with Tom's frets.

Regards.

My favorite IJN destroyer class! A quick barrel replacement for the main guns is available from Fukuya:

The smaller guns are harder to find, but they do exist. Ironically, I have a bunch of them in 1/250. You will probably have to buy them as being marketed for the 1/200 Yamato, but they'll work.

Detailed plans can be bought from Pacific Front.

I look forward to seeing your project and good luck!
