Another excellent build, Lars! The Chokai is an awesome ship in both the way it looks and in service and you've rendered her beautifully. I also agree with your admiration of Dan Kaplan. Dan is my hero in 1/700 IJN builds and I believe he's one of the best IJN modelers in the world.
Can't wait to see more of your work!

That is one fantastic Chokai, Lars! Wonderful level of detail throughout, all nicely highlighted by great photography.

Hi Lars
Definitely, one of your best works!
Apart from being a beautiful ship, you have rendered a very good scale model of it. I really like the amount of work/details/corrections you have put on it, even if the Skywave model is already good.
I have the Aoshima new tooling one in my stash - yours will be a good reference.
Congratulations, once again

Rui
PS: I agree with Dan Kaplan's skills, but I have to add, at least, three names:
- Seitaro Ohki
- Alan Chung
- and of course: Jeff Lin

Lars: I agree with everyone! This is one of your best builds yet. You've managed to capture the look of the IJN heavy cruisers perfectly, with their "top heavy" look! Great job!

Lars, thanks for sharing your build. I really can't add to what everyone else said, so I'll just say what an overall fine build you did. The water is especially convincing, one of the best water effects that I've seen.
