Ugh. Nigel, who wrote the "debates" needs to do some serious research if he's going to put out garbage like that.
For example, he states that "All the Japanese codes had been broken," which is patently false. PURPLE, the diplomatic code, had been broken, but the JN-25 code used by the Navy had not. I have some information about it here.
He also says that Yamamoto's order to the fleet to attack was intercepted on November 25th... the fleet was still in Hitokappu bay in Japan, the order was sent over an undersea cable and was NOT intercepted; the message turned up in a post-war evaluation by US forces.
I'd recommend Wikipedia's Pearl Harbor Advanced Knowledge Debate as a much better starting point.
