Hi Neils. I was wondering where you got the fine chain you have and whos the manufacturer. Looks Japanese? Im finding it verry difficult finding chain for 700 scale work.
Help appreciated

First a quick update with the new pile of PE

Misc. PE from LionRoar

The Yamato SuperDetail Set from LionRoar

The SuperDetail Set frets

Closeups

This should give me enough PE to my Yamato ... more likely to 2-3 Yamatos

And now for this months build-update ..

I finally found a bit of time for some modeling again, which brought me back to the Yamato. I've focused on the 1st MainTurret, and boy did I learn some lessons there .... I'm so glad that I've decided to build 1/350th after this project (with focus on the Kido Butai) .. because 1/700th PE + my clumpsy fingers and semishaking hands = bad compo

Furthermore my CA and I apparently isn't on best of terms ... which is why the turret looks like, it might aswell have been dipped in CA and rolled in PE ... (pure torture)

Oh well ... no more whining ... This will be a great (and enduring) learning process .. The endresult might not be perfect all the way around, but it will prepare me for making great 1/350th Kido Butai ships.

Oh .. let's not forget some pictures .... I'm sorry about the quality. I'm a lousy photographer. Another thing to learn and master .. mental note

The 1st. Main Turret

That's it for now. Hope to be back soon!

Hi Niels,

Greetings from a fellow slow modeler. If I was going to attempt all the photoetch you'll have to deal with on your Yamato, it would take me forever to finish. Keep up the nice work.

I didnt know there were so many etched frets for the yamato built out there till i saw your collection for that built.I am doing a rather quicky in comparison with your project as is going for sale eventually , but still i like my little details and trying to add as many as i can afford time wise. The photos were taken in bad lighting so the quality is not so good.Strange though the low light conditions give the whole scene a rather fitting moody feeling. The sub is the 1-400 from hobby bos.
too bad my patience run out though trying to upload the images.Arrrgghhh.

Hah I just started my 1/350 Yamato. I bought the Lionroar Yamato PE set about 120.00 bucks. The Shinsengumi wood for the Yamato 1/350 110.00. I wouldn't recommend making a museum full build on a 1/350 yamato cause it costs a buttload of cash.
