Ahoy mates!
My entry for the MSW Staff Build Contest is the following:
I will be building the flagship of Kido Butai, the HIJMS Akagi.
I will be using the Hasegawa 1/700 Akagi kit with Loose Cannon's resin island, Eduard's Akagi PE set and IJN figure set, Gold Medal Models 1/700 Aircraft pe set, Waveline aircraft sets and Gator's Paint Masks Akagi flight deck mask and deck planking mask...

oh nice one.. I remember this as one of my first kits I built as a kid with my older brother... I also remember ligtining up a sprue and letting the "sprue drop bombs" fall onto the deck as I recreated Midway

I always found the big side funnels of the Akagi very weird looking, there's something errr "cosmic " about the whole appearance of the ship, so that's a good luck for your build

We need some luck JB. No progress so far. My Midway Enterprise is laying dormant in the builder's yard too. My dad has been laid up in the hospital for close to 2 weeks. I've been visiting him when I get off work and then spent the weekend working around his house.

Too late for the build and way to costly. I did look for Midship Model's pe one but could never find it.

Ahoy mates! Quick update. In a momentary state of insanity, I decided to scribe the deck for the Akagi during lunch today.
