Hi guys.....I am planning to do HMS Belfast as a waterline model, and I am planning to upgrade the doner Airfix kit with WEM photo-etch. Does anyone have any other upgrade recommendations? I have seen one article recommending replacement of the 4" guns and the pom-pom guns.....if this is so...how many did the ship carry? I ask this because I am still waiting for my ship to arrive(good pun) via mail and have not seen the kit. any thoughts on the lifeboats?bridge?
Jim

Aye, the Belfast...Personally, Jim, I would take a look at WEM for a fine dedicated PE set for the Belfast:
And for a fantastic walk-around (and an answer to your armament question
) take a look here...
WEM also has replacement 4" and pom-poms for the vessel as well...search the PRO series onsite...happy hunting!

Aye, Mr. McIntosh,
Not a problem, mate...never built a ship, eh? Well best be careful, because all it takes is one, and you may be hooked, and bad!! (which is a very good thing!
)Extremely interested in the 1/72 U-boat that took gold at Torcan, my friend, I would love to make an "On Display" Feature with a batch of images (hint-hint
)

I wanted to take the opprotunity to publicly thank Caroline and the crew at Whit Ensign Models for all thier great service and support. They really do provide a quality service, and I used to be one paranoid sonofasoanso when it came to mail order, let alone overseas business. Thanks Caroline, thanks John!

Hi Jim,
Welcome aboard!
Gunny is right on as far as the WEM set for the Belfast and just about anything else they stock in their line. As you have obviously discovered their service is second to none. Looking forward to seeing your first seaborne scene.
They are right about the "dark side", once you get a little sea salt in your veins, its' all over with, armor rusts, if a plane ain't got floats, forget it.

Thanks for the welcome,Joe!
I still love armour...the more riveted and agricultural looking the better!! and have many 2 winged seaplanes (Lohner L1, alb W4, at least 3 swordfish....Walrus, folder, Sablatnig,etc) Will post pics of these as soon as I figure out how to do it properly.
I have also ordered the HMCS Bluebell from WEM..
